Mission Minded

This year our mission trip will be held at The Presbyterian Home for Children at Black Mountain. The trip is planned for August 20th through the 22nd. This trip is open to all ages. There will be plenty to do for everyone. We will spend the day working on the grounds of the home. In the evening we will spend time with the children eating and playing games. If you have signed up to go on this trip and have any questions, please call Ida Picard at 704-756-4395, or email Ida at iluvpuffer@yahoo.com.

We will be leaving from the church parking lot on Friday, August 20th at 6:00 PM

In preparation for going to Black Mountain, we have begun a collection of items the Presbyterian Home for Children at Black Mountain are always in need of. Below is a list of supplies we are collecting.

  1. Gift cards to Wal-Mart
  2. AA and AAA batteries
  3. Personal Care items — Shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and deodorant.
  4. Laundry Detergent
  5. Paper products — Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels and napkins.

As we have been blessed, let us be a blessing to others. Out of our bounty, let us provide for those who are unable to provide for themselves.

Perpetual Food Drive

Perpetual Food DriveThe Service and Fellowship Committee is holding a Perpetual Food Drive because people are hungry all year, not just November and December.

Every Sunday there will be a basket, one in each vestibule, for you to deposit non-perishable food items such as canned soup, jars of peanut butter, or cereal, whatever you can spare and whenever you can spare it.

Every month, the food collected will be delivered to Loaves and Fishes. Let’s make the Perpetual Food drive a perpetual success!
